Sunset Beach is well attended not only because of the excellent windsurfing opportunities, but also because 1,288 Californians call it home. The town of Sunset Beach has its very own Post Office and Jack in the Box. Although Sunset Beach is a town over a century old, much of the tradition has been retained with the roads running right into the sand and even free parking. The citizens of Sunset Beach hold a few festivals a year, such as the Motherís Day Weekend Festival or the Mile Long Garage Sale. This small community is neither glitzy nor pretentious. Like a simple but savory meal, Sunset Beach is a just as satisfying if not more enjoyable for the more laid back person who is not looking for a beach with bells and whistles. If you want to escape noise and huge crowds, head over to the friendly folks of Sunset Beach for a visit.
