Location of Skidaway Island State Park Skidaway Island State Park The Skidaway Island State Park is a great place to stay when visiting Savannah if you love camping. They offer both primitive and RV campsites. There are plenty of outdoor activities available. The barrier island has both salt and fresh water due to estuaries and marshes running through the area. This makes for some great fishing opportunities. There are two nature trails for hiking and exploring. There are many animals and birds to watch for including deer and shore birds. The park also offers five picnic shelters you can reserve for a small group or if you have a large group (up to 150) you can reserve the Group Shelter. And keeping the kids busy is easy with three playgrounds and a swimming pool. While on your visit be sure to check out the Museum and Interpretive Center. They feature many nature exhibits. |
