Location of Palouse Falls State Park Palouse Falls State Park Palouse Falls State Park is a 105-acre primitive camping park with a unique geology and history. It is located in Franklin County, Washington, just six miles north of Lyons Ferry. The park is open year-roundfor day activities and the campground opens in mid-March, closing in early October. The park offers a dramatic view of one of the state's most beautiful waterfalls, created by the Lake Missoula floods. Palouse Falls is the only major waterfall left along the glacial flood path of 15,000 years ago. It drops from a height of 200 feet. The park provides one sheltered picnic area with eight braziers and 10 unsheltered picnic tables with two acres of picnic sites. Picnic sites are first-come, first-served. A quarter-mile ADA-accessible hiking trail overlooks this natural wonder. The park has an observation shelter and historical displays. |
