Savannah is Georgia's first city. Located near the mouth of the Savannah River it was an instrumental port town. It had one of the largest railroad companies in the country to transport local and imported goods. Savannah is a history buffs dream vacation. The very large historical district will thrill you with all the restored and renovated buildings, forts, and cemeteries. Learn about the area's significance in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, and the Civil War. There are many great shops and restaurants for all tastes.
