Arco is a small town in central Idaho near the Craters of the Moon National Monument. The town has the distinction of being the first town in America to be powered by electricity generated from nuclear power, made possible by its proximity to the Idaho National Engineering and Environment Laboratory of the U.S. Department of Energy. An interesting sight that you might notice as you drive through town is "Number Hill," which overlooks the city and has been marked by every high school graduating class since 1920. |
