For the last 120 years, Butte has built its fortune through copper mining. The city was a booming metropolis during the early 1900's that attracted some of the world's richest men to capitalize on the wealth of valuable copper ore, gold and silver in the area. Today, Butte is a thriving city with lots to offer including historic buildings like Copper King Mansion, museums, the 90 foot tall "Our Lady of the Rockies" statue that overlooks the town, golf courses, excellent fishing and lots of outdoor recreation. |
