Hardin is a small farming community near the edge of the Crow Indian Reservation in southeast Montana. Historians say that the town was named after Samuel H. Hardin, a cattle man from Wyoming who leased land on the reservation to range his cattle.
Due to its close proximity to the Little Bighorn National Battlefield, Hardin is the home of the annual Custer's Last Stand Re-enactment. Other fun attractions include an art gallery, the Bighorn County Historical Museum, a golf course, Yellowtail Dam, the Bighorn River and the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area.
