Shelby is located at the junction between U.S. Highway 2 and Interstate 15, just 35 miles south of Canada and 90 miles east of Glacier National Park. Although this is a small farming community, there is plenty to see and do in the area. Great fishing and beautiful scenery can be found on the Marias River. Flowing just a few miles south of town, it was names by Meriwether Lewis after his cousin. Along the banks of the river is a very popular golf course at the Marias Valley Golf Course and Country Club. Deer, antelope, elk, fox, golden eagles and grouse populate the fertile hills around Shelby. |
