Rapid City is South Dakota's second largest city with a population of nearly 60,000. The city is situated at the base of the Black Hills, which makes it a perfect vacation destination for those seeking outdoor recreation. Several lakes and streams in the area provide excellent fishing and abundant wildlife in the Black Hills makes for some great hunting. Two ski resorts can be found close to town along with many other attractions like Mount Rushmore, Wind Cave National Park, Badlands National Park, Jewel Cave National Monument and several other caves, caverns and gold mines will keep you busy. Inside town, you'll find lots of shopping, nice hotels, fine restaurants, several golf courses and museums. |
