There is a strong spirit of community in Schulenburg, demonstrated by churches of many denominations, picnics, fairs, youth activities, and an annual rodeo and dance. For golf fans, several golf courses are located nearby. Crime is low here and the quality of life is high. There’s also easy access to Gulf of Mexico fishing and recreation. There’s always something going in or around town and the activities and events cover all age groups and many different interests. Parents are apt to be more involved in their children’s school activities here and lots of family-oriented gatherings are held regularly. We enjoy a slower pace of life than the big cities that surround us. If you ask people who have moved to the Schulenburg region if they feel like they’re part of our community, chances are they will respond that they have never had a busier social life! |
