Richmond was founded in 1607 by Captain Christopher Newport and Captain John Smith. It contains many historical places including Revolutionary War and Civil War sites. This is where Patrick Henry pleaded for freedom with his famous speech, "Give me liberty or give me death." There are several Malls and lots of specialty shops to find just what you're looking for. Go white water rafting through the middle of town down the James River.
