Coupeville is a quaint little town located just 10 minutes south of Oak Harbor along Highway 20. The oldest town on Whidbey Island and the second oldest town in the state, it is celebrating it's 150th anniversary in 2002. Coupeville boasts a small downtown with many 19th century homes and storefronts along the water. All within walking distance you will find fine art galleries, specialty shops, and restaurants. In March, you can enjoy the Penn Cove Mussel Festival and in May, the Water Festival. While in Coupeville, visit the Ft. Casey State Park to see the lighthouse that was built in 1903. |
