Granger is located on the outskirts of the Yakama Indian Nation Reservation in Yakima County, Washington. The town is nestled along the Yakima River amid orchards, vineyards, and other agriculture. The area has long been a gathering ground and in 1909 was incorporated into a town. The Granger Clay Products Company was founded in 1903 making bricks until the mine was depleted in the 1960's. The town received its notoriety in 1958 when Wooly Mammoth bones were discovered in the abandoned clay mine. "Where Dinosaurs Roam" is the theme of the town today, where you can view and interact with life-size dinosaurs throughout the community.
