Ilwaco is situated on Highway 101 near the mouth of the Columbia River, on the Pacific Ocean. This is the southwestern corner of Washington State. The marina has commercial and pleasure boats. If you love to fish, there are charter boats offering salmon, sturgeon and halibut fishing. There are many shops and restaurants also lining the marina, with as much fresh seafood as you can handle. Visit the heritage museum, a certified site on the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Trail, to see several exhibits of local history. Be sure to check out several centennial murals showing the area’s rich history and homes dating back to the 1880’s. Visit nearby Fort Canby State Park with its Lewis and Clark interpretive center, U.S. Coast Guard Lifeboat School and two fabulous lighthouses. Beautiful scenery and cove beaches wait for you. |
