Casper is a big city of nearly 50,000 people located in the center of the state. Casper offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities. Fishing is a major activity in the area, especially on the North Platte River, one of the nation's best blue ribbon trout streams. Other great outdoor recreation that can be enjoyed in the area includes alpine and cross-country skiing, hiking, mountain biking, snowmobiling, bird and wildlife viewing and rafting. There are also several museums, art galleries and theaters for you to enjoy the arts and learn about the history of the area. You can even stand next to a dinosaur! |
