Built in 1887, it features a gold-leaf dome and is open for tours each weekday. Cheyenne features several museums including the Old West Museum at Frontier Park, the Wyoming State Museum and the Nelson Museum of the West. The Wyoming Fish and Game Department Visitor Center explains Wyoming's 600 animal species.
