Location of Colonial Williamsburg Courthouse Colonial Williamsburg One of the original 18th century buildings, the Courthouse of 1770 was the seat of local government and in use until 1932. Come in to hear about the court and how justice was handled in the 1770's. Certain times during the week you can sit in on the "trials" and participate in 18th century justice. KAT'S VIEW The courthouse was for the small trials, not the big cases, only small ones. The main area was filled with benches and leather chairs. The smaller rooms were for the jury to decide guilty or not guilty. |
