The Governor's Palace was completed in 1722. It was the residence of seven royal governors and the commonwealth's first two state governors. It had been in ruins and was reconstructed in 1934. It has been furnished according to an inventory that was taken in October 1770 when Governor Berkeley died. The complex includes a stable, kitchen, and elaborate gardens that were so popular in the 18th century. Converse with the many people of the period and listen to speeches of great patriots that resided in Colonial Williamsburg.

KAT'S VIEW

The Governor's Palace was nice. The gate had a tiger or lion on one side and a unicorn on the other. There was a pretty gold pattern above the entrance of the house. The whole place looked beautiful.
