Location of Colonial Williamsburg Windmill Colonial Williamsburg The windmill had a grinding stone inside that was used to grind grain. The windmill building could be turned to face the wind. It is currently closed for renovation but you can view the outside. It is very interesting how they made it to rotate. KAT'S VIEW The windmill was completely powered by wind. The windmill could be turned to keep the flow of wind. This I found made the building look weird. I don't think I would have been comfortable working inside it. |
