Mount Vernon is located at: 3200 George Washington Memorial Parkway Sixteen miles south of Washington, DC is George
Washington's Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens. It is the nation's oldest
historic preservation project. The Mount Vernon Ladies' Association
purchased the mansion and 200 acres of the estate in 1858. The Association
receives absolutely no tax dollars nor grants from federal, state, or local
government. Their mission is to preserve, restore and manage the
estate to the highest standards and to educate visitors about the life and
legacies of George Washington, so that his example of character and leadership
will continue to inform and inspire future generations. KAT'S VIEW Mt. Vernon was really cool. You could try pulling
wool, or making a bucket. And you could play 'the corn cob game'.
For the animals here they had cows, chickens, horses, pigs, and lots of
sheep. People were using the mules to plow the fields. Check out these areas you will be able to see on your visit.
