The Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library at his birthplace in Staunton, Virginia showcases his life and Presidency. He led a very interesting life beginning under the tutelage of his father, a minister of the Presbyterian Church. He was a scholarly man writing several books and attaining the position of President of Princeton University. He became President of the United States during a troubling time throughout the world. While he tried to bring peace between the Allies and the Central Powers, he was unable to keep the United States out of World War I. After suffering from previous strokes, he suffered a serious one in 1919 and spent the last of his presidency seriously ill. He passed away in 1924.

KAT'S VIEW

I learned about President Wilson here. I didn't know anything about him before. In the museum there was a model of a ship called "Liberte des Mers". There was a car in the museum that dated back to 1919. It was his presidential limo. I have a penny in my coin collection from 1919.

In the house there was a really messed up picture. There were three sets of fingers! Now, that's not right. It looks fine at first when you glance at it, but then after looking closer you notice the fingers. It looks like she has three hands. There were some furnishings of the Wilson family here that were interesting too. It was a nice place to visit.
