Location of Pohick Bay Regional Park and Golf Course Pohick Bay Regional Park and Golf Course Come on out to Pohick Bay Regional Park and Golf Course, the place for your family and friends to relax, play, and stay. The Indians called this land "Pohick," the Algonquin word for the "water place." Today, Pohick Bay is still the water place, a water oriented 1000 plus acre park located just 25 miles south of Washington, DC. The park is on a spectacular bayside setting on the historic Mason Neck peninsula. In early times George Washington visited the area frequently. Today, Mason Neck is an ecologically fragile land that shelters a profusion of wildlife, especially the bald eagle. Thousands of acres have been set aside for wildlife and recreational opportunities on Mason Neck. The park has a boat launch for you to take your boat out onto the Potomac for a day of fun. There are also boat rentals. They have pedal boats, sailboats, Jon boats, single kayaks, and canoes. |
