The Boulder History Museum maintains Boulder’s only comprehensive collection of historical items including in excess of 33,000 artifacts, 200,000 photographs, and 700,000 documents. Boulder’s history comes alive through the voices of people who have chosen to live here using a rich multi-media of hands-on interactives, oral histories, photographs and artifacts.

The Boulder History Museum tells the story of our region from early Native American migrations through the 1920’s. The Museum is housed in an architectural gem – a Victorian mansion built by John and Kate Harbeck of New York City in 1899. The interior includes a Tiffany window in a dramatic art nouveau design, Italian tiled fireplaces, hand-carved mantels, bay windows and many lovely built-in architectural features. Conveniently located in the scenic Hill District, just a short walk, or HOP ride from Downtown Boulder.

Take a step back into Boulder’s diverse and colorful past at the Boulder History Museum. The museum contains Boulder’s only comprehensive collection of historic artifacts displayed in a variety of exhibits as well as hands on activities in several well appointed galleries.
