The Delaware Art Museum's world-renowned collection of more than 12,000 works of art focuses on American art and Illustration from the 19th to the 21st century, as well as the English Pre-Raphaelite movement of the mid-19th century.
The collections provide an outstanding overview of the evolution of American art, from Benjamin West, Frederic E. Church, Winslow Homer and Howard Pyle, to Andrew Wyeth, Edward Hopper and George Segal, as well as the country's largest collection of works by John Sloan. The Museum holds an extensive collection of English Pre-Raphaelite art, including works by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, William Holman Hunt, John Everett Millais and Edward Burne-Jones.
The Museum's 12-acre property has been beautifully landscaped to provide an ever-changing canvas of outdoor beauty, the perfect setting for the region's first Sculpture Park. Visitors may stroll along the "Magnolia Walk," while enjoying works by Tom Otterness, Phillip Rickey, Joe Moss, Isaac Witkin, and Robert Stackhouse.
