Ybor City has much cultural history. Early immigrants mainly Cuban Italian, Spanish and Jewish, came to the area with many working in the main industry of cigar making.
Learn about the history of Ybor City through the Ybor City Museum which was the Ferlita Bakery. See exhibits highlighting the founding father ( Vincente M. Ybor), the cigar industry, the social clubs, and the bakery itself.
Visit the Casita which was a small cottage that was built for cigar workers families. Many immigrants settled in the area because they were allowed to purchase one of these houses through payroll deduction.
The price ranged from $400 to $900 depending on the size of house. The Garden is a version of the Mediterranean-style patios that were popular in the late 19th Century.
