Location of White Oaks Miner's Home & Tool Shed Museum White Oaks Miner's Home & Tool Shed Museum The museum is located in a restored 1800's family home in White Oakes from the gold-boom era. See photos, drawings, and displays on a self-guided tour. The tool shed displays antique mining tools. Open daily May-Sept and by appointment. Miner's Day Celebration is normally the first Saturday in June each year. This museum was created in order to outline for you the atmosphere of that small part of the old west which was called White Oaks, Lincoln Country, N.M. and flourished as a gold mining town in the late 1800's. The sprit of White Oaks in those days reflected closely the spirit of a mining town in general. Therefore, it's hoped that the scenes and exhibits presented within will add not only to your enjoyment and understanding of this once colorful historic site, but also of that entire era and of the way it used to be. |
