Children's Museum of Richmond is a place for young children to play and explore. There are several different areas to pique your child's imagination and learn while they play.

The building room has many different materials to build with. Your little architect can design and build with Legos or wooden blocks and many other building materials. Wander through the inside out house and see how the pipes and wires that are in the walls work.

Climb the tree house. Explore the cave.  What's in the nook under the river flowing down? Check out all those animals. How many can you identify? This is a fun area for children to climb and crawl and explore.

Venture into the store and shop for dinner. Plan a meal and find the ingredients to buy. A fun way to teach your young ones to plan and budget and learn how to shop. The cookies look good, but we need the milk and vegetables, too. Help your child plan a well balanced meal using all the food groups.

One of the most popular areas is the artists' studio. Come in and create a masterpiece. paints, color crayons, and markers galore. Cut and paste, design and create. This room is filled with more supplies than you can imagine for your budding artist to use.

For the youngest explorers crawling and toddling around there is a safe room away from the "big kids". Here little ones can climb, crawl, and explore in a safer padded area made just for them with safe toys just their size.

KAT'S VIEW

The museum was nice. You could turn a disk and make things run. You could ride a bike to start a TV. You could go to a tree house or cave. You could look at minnows from underneath them. You could also make artwork. There were so many things to do.
