Location of Presidents Park Presidents Park Presidents Park takes you on a journey through the history of America and how each President defined that history. The monuments include each of the 42 Presidents and are 16 to 18 feet tall. Beside each monument you can read about what happened during his presidency and personal facts about the President. They include many interesting facts. There are the basics such as birth place and date, death, First Lady, and children. Then there are the more interesting facts that make each President more personable such as: this President had a pet alligator, this President's wife lived to be over 100 years old, this President was a Prisoner of War. There are also 14 markers that tell about defining moments in American History. These include the American Revolution, Civil War, Civil Rights, World War I & II, Space Exploration, and Sept.11, 2001. Some of them also include audio presentations that you can start yourself. There are also benches and a gazebo where you can relax and enjoy the park in leisure. School Children can enhance their visit with one of the Trivia Quest sheets. There are several questions that they can answer the questions to when they walk through the park. They have sheets for grades K-12 that are age appropriate. These make if fun and educational including historical and personal facts that can be learned while reading each President's marker. KAT'S VIEW President's Park was very interesting. There was a statue of all 43 Presidents and a board with information on each one. Did you know John Quincy Adams had a pet alligator? George Washington is the only president to have a unanimous vote by the electoral college. Also, Eisenhower's wife lived to be over 100 years old. |
