The Science Museum offers a world of exploration for all ages. Three floors of hands-on exhibits offer learning for everyone.
Learning starts in Sprout Space "where toddler's explore!" Young children ages 1 to 8 can begin science exploration with books, toys, puzzles, blocks, and games. This special space is set up so toddlers can explore and play without getting hurt.
"Big Kids" and adults alike can learn in Bioscape. There are hands-on activities to explore in three different galleries. Start in the Very Small Gallery to explore cells and DNA. Challenge yourself in the interactive exhibits. The My Size Gallery examines the systems of the human body and how they work. The Really Big Gallery explores the Earth's systems and shows how everything is all interconnected.
Some of the other exhibits include the study and training of rats. There are live snakes and insects to learn about. There are also interactive exhibits showing how a computer works and how different types of crystals are formed. Come have fun exploring science.
KAT'S VIEW
My favorite thing here was Rat Basketball. There were these rats, they would pick up a small ball with their mouth, then they would crawl to a hoop and jump through it with the ball and then go collect their treat. I thought it looked very cute. Since rats can easily be trained, it only makes since that they could play basketball. In another area I learned about different systems of the body and how they work. They also had a room with lots of different types of crystals.
