The Verizon Telecom Pioneer Museum showcases the history of telephone service in Virginia. Service in Virginia started with C&P Telephone then became Bell Atlantic and now is Verizon. this museum show many of the phones, equipment, and tools of the phone companies throughout the years. There are switchboards that were used across the state. The volunteers are all retired form the phone company and can show you how they used many of these different systems. See the old phones. Can you find the ones you have used throughout the years? There are several phone booths from the first styles to today. The collection that has been put together is diverse and you get to see how equipment has changed through the years. The library room has a variety of books that have been used by the phone companies. There are repair manuals, directories, and many other types that were used. There are also yearbooks, that the company put together with information about the people and the changes that have been made each year.
