Location of Shafer Historical Museum The Shafer Historical Museum Winthrop, WA, shows much of the Methow Valley's history and memorabilia. There is a mining display from the gold rush era which brought the first permanent white settlers to the area. There are hundreds of genuine pioneer pieces displayed in a life-sized replica of an early Methow Valley settlement. Enjoy seeing the equipment of yesteryear when stopping in Winthrop. Pictures of Shafer Historical Museum were taken by Darryl Franklin |
