Location of Gettysburg Battlefield Gettysburg National Military Park The Gettysburg battlefield comprised over 6000 acres. The 18-mile auto tour traces the three-day battle in chronological order. There are places to stop all along the route so you can stop and view the battlefield and the many monuments that honor those who fought here from both sides. There are also some places with short walks to view battle areas like Big Round Top. There are hikes that can be taken and you can get self-guides to take with you that give good descriptions of all the battlefield for a better understanding of all that happened. |
