Location of McPherson Ridge Gettysburg National Military Park It is here that the Battle of Gettysburg began. About 8 am to the west beyond the McPherson barn as Union Calvary confronted Confederate infantry advancing east along Chambersburg Pike. Heavy fighting spread north and south along this ridgeline as additional forces from both sides arrived. There are many monuments to be seen as you are on the driving tour through here. |
