Start your visit at the Gettysburg National Military Park here at the Visitors Center. Here you can get information on the various hikes and walks as well as the driving tour. There are also battlefield bus tours and the Eisenhower tour leaves from here. You can learn about the various programs and the Park Rangers guided walks. Most of the activities here are free. There are just a couple things such as the Cyclorama show and bus tours. There are family and child activities including the Junior Ranger Program. There are a host of programs for the first-time visitor and several for the return visitor as well. Programs are designed to meet every knowledge level from beginner to expert.

In the Visitor Center there is a museum with many artifacts from the Civil War. There are several displays from weapons to camp sites. There are medical displays and cannon, rifles and swords, and many personal items.

KAT'S VIEW

The most interesting thing I found here were things that soldiers did to pass the time when they weren't fighting. There were dominos and cards, a hand painted checkers set, a backgammon board, and a chess set. They were all very small.
