Location of Beaver Dam Creek Battlefield Beaver Dam Creek Battlefield Beaver Dam Creek Battlefield was on the sight of Ellerson's Mill. This is one of the tour stops for the 1862 Seven Days' Battles. This was a Union front that the Confederates unsuccessfully attacked on June 26, 1862. Union artillery and infantry fire stopped Lee's attack and few Confederates crossed the stream along this two mile line. There is a bridge so you can walk over the creek to where the site of the heaviest fighting was during this battle. KAT'S VIEW The lake here was so still it was hardly moving at all. There were bushes and trees everywhere. Crickets were jumping around. And during the Civil War people fought and died here. The river must have been red with blood. You can still imagine it now. |
