In 1607, 13 years before the Pilgrims landed in Massachusetts, 104 Englishmen landed at Jamestown. They were sponsored by the Virginia Company of London to profit from the resources from the new world. The colonists suffered many hardships in the beginnings, but soon began prospering when they were able to start sending the very lucrative cash crop of tobacco back to England. Visit a replica of the settlement, ships, and of the Indians who helped them in the beginning. Check out these thing you can see here.
