Malvern Hill Battlefield is located at:

The last of the 1862 Seven Days' Battles was fought on July 1st. The Union soldiers, on the defensive, dug no trenches. Instead they stood in battle formation across the gently sloping fields, their massed artillery and infantry fire shattering the ranks of the attacking Confederate forces. More than 8,000 men were wounded or killed during this battle. Union forces fired 1392 rounds of shell and canister. The Federal troops held their ground.
