The Chihuahuan Desert Nature Park is dedicated to increasing scientific literacy by fostering an understanding of the Chihuahuan Desert. The 960-acre, topographically and biologically diverse Nature Park site is located north of Las Cruces, New Mexico in the northern Chihuahuan Desert. The site currently features a 1.5-mile walking trail with plant identification signs, picnic areas, a science demonstration plot, a parking lot, waterless restroom facilities, and a new 150-seat amphitheater.
The Nature Park encompasses a small section of the Doņa Ana Mountains northeast of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Spectacular views of the Organ Mountains, San Andres Mountains and the Jornada Basin are also visible from the Park.
