Penn's Cave

The limestone cavern is a stunning example of nature's flawless beauty and color. You enter the cave from the water entrance that opens from the bottom of a sinkhole several hundred feet in diameter and 75 feet deep. Board a boat for the one mile tour through the cave. Prepare to be amazed by the beautiful formations that nature has created. Dripping water has sculptured magnificent flowstone, curtains, cascades, and draperies against a background of pillars and gigantic columns. A knowledgeable guide will take you through the natural limestone passageways and onto Lake Nitanee where you will see trophy size trout and ducks. You will then travel back through the cavern where you can get another glimpse at the wonderful beauty of the cave before disembarking back at the sinkhole opening.
KAT'S VIEW
There was a formation called Statue of Liberty. I thought it looked like Santa Claus going down a chimney to me. In what is called a breakdown pile one formation looked like a skeleton. One formation was hollow and if you were to hit it with something it would play musical notes. In one part of the cave there were muskrat tracks. When the boat went out to the lake one of the ducks swam up to us.
