Location of Oak Creek Feeding Station Oak Creek Feeding Station In 1945 the government started a winter feeding program for the elk in the Oak Creek area. It has been a favorite winter attraction since. More than 100,000 visitors come to view the elk each year. There is a large parking lot, covered viewing area, and rest rooms. There is also an interpretive center that is open 9 am to 4 pm most weekends. The center has a slide show, kid's corner, and volunteers are there to answer questions.
