Stone Mountain Park’s newest attraction opened in May 2002. Transport yourself to an 1870’s rural southern town bustling with activity in a manner most of us have only read about in history books. Interact with craftspeople steeped in the almost forgotten art of Glass Blowing, Candle Making, Candy Making and Blacksmithing. Enjoy live shows and entertainment with our Crossroads townsfolk. Watch the Grist Mill grind flour for cinnamon rolls baked in the bakery right next door or watch ice cream and candy being made.
The Park’s top attraction is The Mountaintop Skylift. This high-speed Swiss cable car offers a stunning view of the Confederate Memorial Carving, Atlanta and the Appalachian Mountains, as you ascend more than 800 feet.
All aboard! A full-size locomotive from the 1940s with open-air cars, take guests on a five-mile excursion around the mountain. A narrated tour blends a little southern history with stories of the times, troubles and legends that surround the most famous rock in the world.
Nineteen historically restored and decorated buildings bring to life an authentic southern plantation complete with beautiful formal gardens. Enjoy the sights and smells of the working cookhouse and blacksmith shop where demonstrating craftspeople preserve and pass-on the timeless traditions and treasures of the south. Talk to the animals at our Farmyard where kids can pet the animals while professionals teach them about animal behavior.
Cruise the tranquil waters of Stone Mountain Lake on the Scarlett O’Hara, an authentic paddlewheel riverboat that carries 150 passengers. The boat was built right here at the park in 1976. The Riverboat Complex also provides pedal boats for recreation suitable for all ages.
If the family needs more fun, they can test their skills on our 36-hole miniature golf course. Our four waterslides are fun for the entire family. Our lake is closed to swimming, but families can relax on the sand and enjoy the view.
Stone Mountain is a prehistoric wonder of nature and a modern marvel of man. The world’s largest exposed piece of granite is home to the world’s largest relief sculpture, which was begun by the designer who would later create the Mount Rushmore carving. Stone Mountain's Confederate Memorial Carving is a war memorial that is a masterful mix of art, engineering and technology.
Stone Mountain Park is Georgia’s #1 attraction, offering 3,200 acres of recreation and entertainment. The park welcomes over 4 million visitors annually. Stone Mountain Park is located just 16 miles east of downtown Atlanta.
