Location of the National World War II Memorial National World War II Memorial The National World War II Memorial, located on the National Mall in Washington, DC commemorates the sacrifice and celebrates the victory of the WWII generation. The World War II Memorial creates a distinct, evocative and serene tribute yet remains respectful and sensitive to its historic surroundings. The memorial was dedication on May 29th, 2004. View the sculpted scenes and the memorable quotes. The memorial pays tribute to the many battle fronts and the men who fought for liberty for America and the world. It is a place to reflect and remember. I liked this memorial a lot. It was really nice. There were fountains and wreaths with the names of countries and states on them. There were two different sides of the memorial, the Pacific and the Atlantic. |
