Location of Lake Pend Oreille Lake Pend Oreille Lake Pend Oreille is located in northern Idaho. It is one is one of the deepest lakes in the world, with some depths at 1150 feet. It is 65 miles long and covers an area of 148 square miles. The lake is surrounded by national forest with a few small towns around it. It is a true wilderness experience. Fishing is popular as you can catch rainbow trout and lake trout, bass, perch, crappie, whitefish and kamloops. Visit Farragut State Park on the southern tip of the lake. It was the second largest naval training ground during World War II. The lake is still used for large-scale submarine prototype testing due to the acoustics of its depth. |
