Location of Cacapon State Park Cacapon State Park Over 6000 acres encompass Cacapon Resort State Park. Over 20 miles of trails abound for the hiker visiting the park. From a leisure walker to an avid hiker, Cacapon's got a trail to suit you. Two areas at the park, the lake and reservoir, offer fishing opportunities. The lake is stocked in the spring for trout fishing, but other fish that can be caught are bass, catfish and blue gill. The reservoir is not stocked. Nearby fishing opportunities include the Potomac River and Cacapon River. Anyone under the age of 15 does not need a license to fish, those over 15 must obtain a West Virginia Fishing License. Proper license and stamps are required. Short term fishing licenses are sold at the Lodge. |
