Location of the State Botanical Garden of Georgia State Botanical Garden of Georgia A young garden by most standards, The State Botanical Garden of Georgia continues to grow and develop. Exciting changes lie ahead—an extensive master plan completed in 1990 will guide growth and land use for several decades to come. Several new gardens are proposed, yet much of the land will remain in a natural state even when the master plan is fully implemented. Georgia's flora is among the most diverse in the U.S. Various climatic zones and soil types support an amazing array of species, many of which can be found at the Garden. A number of introduced and exotic species also abound in the theme gardens and collections in the conservatory. As a university botanical garden, education is the Garden's primary focus. Plant conservation, habitat protection, and biodiversity are but a few topics embraced and furthered by the Garden. Visitors also come for recreation, social interaction, and simply to experience the beauty of nature. Whatever your reason, we hope that you will enjoy your visit and that you will return soon. |
