'The Mission of the Tybee Island Marine Science Center is to promote appreciation, conservation and understanding of the marine ecosystem of coastal Georgia through education and service.'

When on Tybee Island be sure to stop by this Marine Science Center. They feature species indigenous to the Georgia coast. There are several exhibits to see. The touch tank is very popular. You can hold several species including hermit crab and horseshoe crab as well as others. There are several fish species and coral species to view. Many are truly amazing. You can compare different types of turtles and the different types of habitat they live in. There is also an alligator and snakes to view.

The Center offers field trips for all ages. They also do Beach Discovery Walks. Learn about the sea life right on the beach. There are many other programs offered. Be sure to check it out.

KAT'S VIEW

The Tybee Aquarium was a nice aquarium. They had an octopus that was expecting babies. Plus a touch tank with horseshoe crabs and other crustaceans. They also had American alligators. There was a nice fossil gallery.

The Tybee Aquarium would be a nice place to visit for a learning experience. In the gallery you can learn about different species of fish. There are also turtle exhibits. There was also a Gray's Reef exhibit. The Atlantic Bight was the most interesting part.
