Tybee Island is a quaint beach town outside of Savannah. It has much history being a major part of America's Coastal Defense throughout history. You can learn about the island's participation in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, and the Civil War at the lighthouse and museum as well as at Fort Pulaski. Enjoy the three miles of beach stretching along the north and east sides of the island. Learn about the area sea life at the Marine Science Center. The island boasts of many great vacation rentals and the freshest seafood at many local restaurants. |
