Come explore the best of Georgia as you visit the parks here. Georgia's waterfalls and lakes, beaches and swamps, forests and mountains are just a sample of the settings you’ll discover as you explore the beautiful parks and refuges on your next great adventure. Come watch the leaves turn vibrant shades of autumn within mountain parks or escape to a coastal refuge and get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. There’s plenty of places to explore in the Georgia outdoors. Georgia’s parks and refuges give you the chance to enjoy the activities you truly love like camping, fishing, hiking, boating, photography, horseback riding and much more.

In 1931, Indian Springs State Forest Park and Vogel State Park were joined to create the Georgia State Parks System, giving Georgia the oldest state park system in the nation. From the gold mines of Dahlonega to the former capital of the Cherokee Nation, from the peak of Black Rock Mountain to the floor of Tallulah Gorge, the state parks and historic sites of Georgia covers the gamut of Georgia's cultural and natural history.
