Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., Poipu Bay is one of the most highly acclaimed resort courses in the Pacific. Since 1994, the course has played host to the annual PGA Grand Slam of Golf, one of the most prestigious tournaments in the golf world. Poipu Bay’s 210 oceanfront acres meander along rugged coastline featuring 85 bunkers, five water hazards and wildly varying trade winds, all of which combine to make the course one of the most intriguing and spectacular golf experiences in the U.S. The ocean-links style course includes over 30 acres of tropical plants and flowers, and pleasant distractions abound: panoramic vistas tempt you to stop and get utterly lost in the scenery; Hawaii’s endangered native nene geese frequent the links; and in winter months, humpback whales spout offshore. Your greatest challenge at Poipu Bay may be simply to keep your concentration on the game! At Poipu Bay you will experience the highest level of service--topped with a large dollop of “aloha” --starting with a warm welcome and ending with a chilled citrus-scented towel. Poipu Bay’s staff members are known for their friendliness and their commitment to quality service for their guests.
