Lewiston, located on Idaho's border with Washington, was named after Merriwether Lewis of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The town has a rich history that includes being the capital city of the new Idaho Territory for a short time. Lewiston's location make it a haven for outdoor sportsmen. Not only is the town situated at the junction between the Snake and Clearwater rivers, where you will find some incredible fishing, it is also near the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area and the limitless recreational opportunities of the Rocky Mountains.
